Ffyngau exists because the functional mushroom market needed a product that respects the people buying it. We grow, blend and dose in Wrexham, North Wales, and we tell you exactly what is in the pouch.
Our story
Ffyngau started with a simple frustration. The shelves were full of functional mushroom products that did not stand up to scrutiny. Instant powders in sachets. Trace doses dressed up as wellness. Brands with soft pastel packaging and no real answer to where their mushrooms came from. If you actually drink coffee and you actually read labels, almost none of it was for you.
So we built the product we wanted to buy. Welsh mushroom coffee that is real coffee first: specialty-grade and ground for an aeropress, cafetiere or pour-over, pre-blended with organic mushroom extracts at a dose that means something. A minimum of 750mg of extract per serving, in a 250g resealable pouch, stated plainly on the pack.
The provenance is North Wales and it is not decoration. We are based in Wrexham, we grow here, and we blend here. The name says it too. Ffyngau is Welsh for fungi, and our flagship coffee is called Grym, Welsh for power. The Welsh name is not a marketing flourish bolted onto an imported product. It is where we are from. What Ffyngau is not
It is easier to understand what we are once you know what we refused to become.
- Not instant. Grym is real ground coffee for proper brewing methods, not a powder you stir into hot water.
- Not underdosed. A minimum of 750mg of extract per serving, never a trace amount hidden behind a wellness claim.
- Not a London brand pretending to be artisan. We are from Wrexham, and the provenance is genuine.
- Not aimed at people who do not drink real coffee. Ffyngau is for serious coffee drinkers who want genuine, properly extracted functional mushrooms.

Provenance
Grown and blended in Wrexham, North Wales. No anonymous commodity ingredients, and a chain you can trace from the source to the pouch.
Dosage
A minimum of 750mg of mushroom extract per serving, stated openly. No proprietary blends used to hide a thin dose.
Authenticity
A real Welsh product with a Welsh name, not a story borrowed to sell an imported powder. What we say on the pack is what is in it.
Quality
Specialty-grade coffee, organic mushrooms and dual extraction. We hold the whole product to the standard a serious coffee drinker would expect.
