Where it comes from
Our Grower: The Fungi Folks
Ffyngau doesn’t grow mushrooms. The Fungi Folks in Chepstow do that, and they do it properly. Here’s who they are and why we work with them.
Ben Gibson and his team at The Fungi Folks grow and extract every mushroom fruiting body that goes into a Ffyngau product, from their site in Chepstow, South Wales.
They are a certified organic producer, certified by the Soil Association, and the only UK producer making certified organic mushroom fruiting body extract at this level. That certification is theirs, not ours. Ffyngau is not organic-certified in our own right, so we don’t label our own finished products as organic. What we do inherit from The Fungi Folks is the standard behind the certification: fruiting body only, no shortcuts, full traceability from spore to bottle.
We don’t grow the mushrooms ourselves because The Fungi Folks already do the hard bit properly, and better than we could set up from scratch. Sourcing from them means every batch that reaches a Ffyngau bottle has already been through a genuinely rigorous, independently certified process before we touch it.
